Pete Gioia, Veteran Connecticut Economist, Joins Goman+York

East Hartford, Conn. — Peter M. Gioia, a long-time economist and public policy analyst, has joined Goman+York Property Advisors LLC as Managing Director, Economic and Policy Research.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pete Gioia and add his significant expertise to Goman+York’s Advisory Services team,” said Michael Goman, principal of the firm. “Pete brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts to G+Y and will significantly enhance our ability to offer forecasting and comprehensive analysis on a wide range of matters related to economic development and public policy.”

Gioia is a well-known figure in Connecticut and southern New England, having managed research, business surveys, and policy conferences for the Connecticut Business and Industry Association for several decades. He brings knowledge of trends related to manufacturing, workforce training, information technology, credit availability, challenges facing small business, international trade, education, tax policy, transportation, job and economic growth.

Gioia is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars and has often appeared as a guest on media programs concerning business and political issues. He is a past president and member of the Hartford Area Business Economists, and also served on the state’s Municipal Accountability Review Board.

Earlier in his career, Gioia served as a senior consultant with KPMG and worked as a budget analyst for the Connecticut General Assembly’s Office of Fiscal Analysis.

Gioia holds a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s degree in history and economics. He was Connecticut Team Captain for USA*NAFTA.
